"Autumnal Cannabalism" is an oil on canvas painting by Salvador Dalí. It was completed in 1936, which was a time during the Spanish Civil War. This kind of war divides a country. The kind of war where a once unified people are divided right in two. Both sides probably strongly believed they were morally correct. But who decides what is right and wrong and on what basis? Whose perspective is it perceived from? This divide, where neither side can set aside their pride, destroys the lives of many. Both sides lose. When nation is severed, the opposing sides are only inflicting harm on themselves by doing it to their enemies. They could instead be working together to benefit the health and well-being of all people. Whose cause is everyone killing eachother in the name of? And whose is correct?
